The Guerilla show at The Loft last night was awesome!!! The hair salon was packed with people all night, such an amazing turnout. So Im taking part in this amazing event, I was able to collaborate and photograph with stylist/writer Tracie Leblanc. The shoot went amazing and the photos turned out even better then I could imagine!!! While even the worst happened...I got interviewed and put onto video no less, by cinematographer Graham Law. I have to tell you, my talking skills in front of the camera might need a wee bit of work. They had to do alot of retakes, while i stumbles through my words... This is why I photograph and dance.

I recently attended the New Dance Series 2009-2010 SOLOS show this past weekend. From the students attending the modern training program at the School of Dance. Featuring solos from Bianca Boudreau, Chantal Carrier, Marilou Lépine, Rebecca McLane, Simon Renaud and Mélissa Roy.

As well as two group choreographic pieces created by the 1st and 2nd year students. It was an amazing show, and I am always impressed at the talent that the school creates and flourishes. pics to come.

I haven't posted in a while. Working on an upcoming shoot soon to come up soon. I've also been working with some dancers around town, doing some stuff outside at night. So I did a couple practice shots working with a limited amount of lighting, and also the fact that I do not own any, I am limited.lol.

My 1st roll from my trip to Victoria. Using a Yashica-A twin lens camera. I used a different way of scanning since I don't have a proper scanner to scan 120 film. So these negs were scanned using a photocopier style scanner and a mirror to reflect the light through. Interesting .

I recently had the chance to go to New York for the first time. It was definitely the city that never sleeps. Crowds of tourists buzzing around from early morning to early morning. Vendors and pigeons swarmed every city block for miles to see. I had fun!

I think it's important as a photographer to document yourself over the years as you photograph. It's always interesting putting them into a concept like this to make you realize the differences you have now compared to when you first started. So I put together some of the self portraits I did while I was in school, like an overview, a documentary of your life.

On Friday April 17, 2009 between 15:00 and 21:00, the School of Photographic Arts: Ottawa will open its doors to the public for the vernissage of Exhibition No. 4. This exhibit is the latest of the annual series showcasing outstanding photographs produced by SPAO Portfolio Program students.

The show will display an exciting blend of photographic approaches and practices from students in all three levels. Silver-gelatin, alternative processes, digital printing and instant photography will be thoroughly celebrated.

This is going to be my last exhibition as a student at SPAO. I have had 3 great years, and have had many experiences and have met so many great people. I appreciate all the time I spent there and will continue to strive and grow as a artist.

The Level 3 students (Sarah Fisher, Sarah Schorlemer & Sarai Strikefoot) of SPAO have helped create a space where photo-graphy can be showcased outside the walls of the school with the creation of PUSH/PULL. A process driven project that results in an annual, theme based magazine made up of images and text created by the Level 2 students of SPAO. Issue #1 theme is BEGINNINGS which is depicted throughout a well designed tangible piece of art.

We will be selling the magazine for 5$ at exhibition no.4, and at other locations (coming soon)

The week is finally here!!! Next Friday the 16th I will be having my first solo show at school, featuring black and white silver gelatin prints. It has been a long process and a lot of work to get this show up and running. Many long hours spent in the darkroom the show is finally finished!!! Hope it will be a great success.

In May 2008, I was asked by Tony Martins and Guerilla Magazine to do a shoot. I did a fashion shoot using the story The Princess and the Pea. I got fashion designers Jefferson Sukhoo providing the beautiful haute couture gowns. Schad, an amazing boutique in the Byward market, and the beautiful day wear provided by designer Muriel Dombret in the west end of Ottawa.

Flowing through my skin and veins like wind in my front lawn.

The moment when the hair in the back of my neck raises and everything around me falls silent. Exhausting hours of hard effort, and muscles aching. Sweat running down the side of my cheek. And the floor pleasantly cold against my feet.

If you know who I am, you can already identify what I’m talking about. And truly know the feeling.

EBA Show; L'Eau and Mousse

Opening of festival X, I was part of a show at the enriched bread artists gallery.I ended up showing landscapes which is a very sparse subject in my current portfolio.
L'Eau and Mousse, both rock surfaces that exist in New Hampshire at the Franconia flume.It was such a beautiful sight to see, to those who don't know what a flume is, dictionary definition; a deep narrow defile containing a mountain stream or torrent.

So I figured that I would get up to date and actually have one of these things. So, I will start off with my new collection of paintings i have been working on this summer.

A childhood dream of mine was to be part of this society of acrobats and contortionists. A world filled with candy apples and elephants. Where everynight you would perform under a big red and yellow tent filled with an audience idolizing and a smell of popcorn in the air.

I would like to capture myself one day in this scenario.

So the new blog experience begins.
